Symptoms and effects:

The disease is caused by the fungus Phytophthora.
The fungus exists in the soil, attacking the parts of the pepper plant such as the roots, root necks, foot of the tree and stem, leaves.
Phytophthora fungus attacks on the underground parts causing vascular rot leading to wilting and rapid death in a very short time.
Newly infected pepper plants show yellowing of leaves and loss of leaves
